Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

We collect as little information as possible. Here's what we do and don't collect:

• Focus schedules & block settings— stored locally on your device only, via Apple's Screen Time API. We have no access to which apps you choose to block.
• Affirmation theme preferences — stored locally on your device. We do not transmit your selected themes or displayed quotes to our servers.
• Early access form data — if you sign up on our website, we collect your email address and limited technical context: referral domain (hostname only), coarse country code (e.g. TH, US), and device category (mobile, tablet, desktop, or bot). We do not store precise location or full browsing history.
• Analytics data from the iOS app — we use Firebase Analytics to track onboarding behavior and user engagement within the app. This includes:
  • Which onboarding screens you view
  • Onboarding answers you provide (focus time preference, estimated phone hours/pickups, whether you granted Screen Time permission)
  • Whether you completed onboarding and created your first focus session
  • Basic app usage patterns (which features you use)
  This data is collected by Google Firebase and is subject to Firebase's Privacy Policy. Data is retained for 14 months by default. You can opt out of Firebase Analytics in your device settings, though basic crash reporting may continue.
• Anonymous usage analytics— we may collect anonymised, aggregated crash reports and performance metrics through Apple's built-in tools. This data cannot be linked to you personally.

We do not collect your name, email address, precise location, contacts, browsing history, or any sensitive personal data within the app itself.

How We Use Your Information

The limited data we receive is used solely to operate and improve InwardFocus:

• To provide the core app functionality (scheduling & blocking)
• To deliver your chosen affirmation theme at the right times
• To diagnose crashes and improve app stability via anonymous reports
• To contact early-access sign-ups with updates about the app launch
• To understand campaign/channel performance using coarse attribution data (referrer host, country code, and device type)

We will never sell, rent, or trade your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Apple Screen Time API

InwardFocus uses Apple's Screen Time / Family Controls framework to enforce app blocks. This means:

• All blocking happens entirely on your device — no data about which apps you block is transmitted to InwardFocus or any third party.
• Apple governs access to the Screen Time API under their own privacy terms. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles this data.

Data Storage & Security

Your focus schedules and affirmation settings live only on your device in Apple's secure app sandbox. We apply industry-standard practices to any data we do handle, and we retain it only for as long as necessary.

For early-access sign-ups, we store only the minimum metadata needed for growth attribution. We do not store exact GPS location, and we avoid storing raw IP addresses in our signup table.

If you delete the InwardFocus app, all locally stored app data is removed from your device automatically.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that have their own privacy policies:

Children's Privacy

InwardFocus is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Your Rights

Depending on your location you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete it. Because we store minimal data, most of your data lives entirely on your device and can be removed by deleting the app.

If you wish to opt out of Firebase Analytics data collection, you can disable it in your iOS device settings under Privacy > Analytics & Improvements. However, basic crash reporting through Apple's system may continue.

For any data held by us (e.g. early-access sign-up details), please contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of InwardFocus after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
